The wireframe provides a starting point for visual design. It shows
priority, relationships, and hierarchy. It also helps identify all the
content that needs to be created.
One value of wireframing is to save money during the design process.
It's better to experiment with the wireframe rather than have a designer
execute multiple design compositions (comps). Even minor changes in the
design phase can require several hours of design.

Additionally, the wireframe saves the designer time because they
start with all the components and text they need. They can focus on
color and composition. They should feel free to change the arrangement
of content as long as they preserve emphasis and relationships shown in
the wireframe.
